Privacy notice
Last updated May 2026
This notice explains what information we collect when you use Israelite Dating, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We try to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, contact us through Support.
Who we are
Israelite Dating (“we,” “us”) is the controller of personal information processed through this Service. You can reach us at the contact details on our Support page.
What we collect
- Account details: email, display name, sign-in codes, and authentication metadata (so we can keep your account secure).
- Profile content: photos, bio, age, location you choose to share, and structured fields (e.g. marital status, children, body type, lifestyle, willingness to relocate, desired relationship style).
- Activity: likes, blocks, conversations and messages you send through the Service, meetup RSVPs and content, and reports you submit.
- Preferences: filters, sort, notification settings, and saved search.
- Photo verification: if you choose to verify, the selfie and comparison results we generate to issue your verified badge.
- Payments: if you buy Membership, our payment provider (Gumroad) processes the purchase and shares purchase confirmation, the email used at checkout, and the product purchased with us. We do not receive your full card number.
- Technical data: IP address, user agent, device and connection signals, error and security logs. This is generated in the course of operating the app on Cloudflare and is used for reliability, abuse prevention, and basic analytics.
Profile information you put on a dating service can include details that some laws treat as sensitive (for example, religion or relationship preferences). By creating your profile and choosing what to share, you consent to that information being processed for the dating-service purposes described here. You can change or remove any field at any time.
How we use your data
- Run the Service: show profiles, deliver messages, host meetups, send sign-in codes, and handle membership.
- Personalize discovery: use your filters, age, and preferences to surface members who fit what you’re looking for.
- Keep it safe: detect and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and misuse; review reports; enforce our Terms.
- Communicate with you: sign-in codes, transactional notices (e.g. report receipts, account changes), and — only if you’ve opted in or where allowed by law — product updates.
- Improve the product: understand which features help, fix bugs, and plan what to build next. We use aggregated and minimized data wherever possible.
- Comply with the law: respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, and meet recordkeeping obligations.
Where required (for example under GDPR/UK GDPR), our legal bases for processing are: contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), consent (for things like optional emails or sensitive profile fields), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), and legal obligation (to comply with applicable laws).
Who can see what
Other members can see the public parts of your profile (photos, bio, fields you’ve shared, your verified badge if you have one). Free visitors see a limited, blurred preview of the directory; full Members can see the directory in full. Messages are visible to you and the person you’re talking to, plus our moderation team if a report is filed.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the platform — for example Cloudflare (hosting, storage, security), our email provider (sign-in codes, notifications), Gumroad (payments), and any error-tracking or analytics tool we use. They process data on our behalf under contracts.
- Other members, but only the parts of your profile and content you have chosen to share.
- Authorities, when we’re legally required to or where it’s necessary to prevent serious harm.
- A successor, if Israelite Dating is ever acquired or merges with another company; we’ll let you know if that happens.
International transfers
Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare’s global network, so your data may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
Retention
We keep account and profile data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your user record and related application data, and we delete your uploaded photos from object storage. We may keep minimal records (for example, billing receipts, abuse reports, legal holds, and short-lived security or delivery logs) for as long as we need them to meet legal, accounting, or safety obligations.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; download a copy (portability); restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
- Download your data: open Account → Export my data.
- Delete your account: same place — Delete account.
- Manage emails: Settings → notification preferences.
- Anything else: contact Support and we’ll respond within the timeframes required by law.
We will not retaliate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Cookies & similar tech
We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies and tokens to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and protect against abuse. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Where local law requires it, you’ll see a banner the first time you visit so you can make a choice.
Children
Israelite Dating is for adults (18+). We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please report it through Support and we will remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, and rate-limited APIs) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique sign-in and report anything suspicious through Support.
Changes to this notice
When we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email. Older versions are available on request.
